I always go for the Asian foods at the mall because one, a lot more affordable and two, generous portion for what you pay. I enjoyed the food. I thought the chicken teriyaki was pretty good, well seasoned, and fresh. The wait for the food was not as long as the wait to order.

We ordered the seafood noodle soup to get warmed up. The broth the soup comes in is basically very lightly salted water. No flavor what so ever. The noodles were also over cooked and bland. "Seafood" consistent of imitation crab and shrimp, which is also bland.
Incredibly disappointing option at the MoA especially with better options all around. -

Probably one of my favorite spots to eat at the Mall of America. Located right in front of the North Food Court (on third floor between Nordstrom and Sears), Little Tokyo is pretty much like a fast food hibachi bar in a Chinese restaurant. I prefer this spot over all the other Asian food places just because they 100% make the food fresh to order and cook it right in front of you so you know exactly what is going on there rather than having the meat sit out for a while.
Their menu is fairly simple and straight forward. You can choose a type of protein (chicken, beef, or shrimp), fried or white rice and steamed vegetables. I always ask for extra meat which is only around 2 bucks more but totally worth it for the huge portion of food you'll get. The box is always overflowing with food. They season their meat with this delicious seasoned butter and it tastes amazing. And once they throw everything in your box, I always, ALWAYS, ask for extra sauce. They won't give it to you unless you ask. They put it on the meat while they cook it, but I like having extra on top of my rice and veggies to keep them nice and soft and saucy.
The service is not much to speak on. You're at the mall, you shouldn't really expect any fantastic service anyway but with that being said, I have never had an issue here. Ordering is quick and easy and no one has given me attitude - not even when I beg for extra sauce :D
Also if you're here on a busy mall day, keep in mind that this might take a little bit longer than your traditional fast food. They are cooking things as you order them so be patient with that, it's totally worth the wait.
Little Tokyo is definitely worth checking out; it's simple, fresh, and flavorful! Plus the price is right and the portions are huge so you don't have to worry about still being hungry afterwards. -

I have to say that I've been here numerous times the food is decent and the service is quick. However lately the chicken is way over cooked and the portions have decreased significantly I mean significantly!

Nowhere near authentic Japanese food, but the taste of the teriyaki beef and shrimp and fried noodles is splendid! The steamed vegetables are an added plus, as they're delicious and not overcooked until they're limp. The beef and shrimp plate can be had for a mere $12.00 before taxes. I also love that they have high quality chopsticks.
